If you’re going to kick off fall right, you’re going to need a pumpkin. True, you could go with a grocery store pumpkin. Or, you can turn your pumpkin picking experience into your first fall adventure at KC Pumpkin Patch, located just a short drive away in Olathe.
Not only does KC Pumpkin Patch have a wide selection of pumpkins for your fall décor, they feature over 50 fall and farm-themed activities and games for all ages. If you’ve got kids or young nieces and nephews, they’ll have a blast at KC Pumpkin Patch.
KC Wine Co. – 13875 S Gardner Rd, Olathe, KS
If that address above looks familiar, it’s because KC Wine Co. actually sits on the same property as KC Pumpkin Patch. During the day, it’s fall-themed and family friendly. At night, they keep the fall theme, but it caters to the 21 and over crowd who enjoys live music, great food, and amazing drinks.
Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October, KC Wine Co. hosts events featuring live music, fall-themed beverages (try their spiked cider wine slushie), and the very best local food truck vendors. If you want to take your dog with you, check them out on one of their Howl-o-ween events.
Louisburg Cider Mill – 14730 K68 Highway, Louisburg, KS
Clocking in at a 30-minute drive from our luxury studio apartments here at The Villas, Louisburg Cider Mill is easily the longest trip of the bunch. However, that long drive will pay off in the end when you get some of that famous Louisburg apple cider along with a fresh cider donut. In addition to making some of the best apple-based products in the entire state, Louisburg Cider Mill also features plenty of activities for the whole family. They have a 10-acre corn maze, hay wagon rides, beehive exhibit, and their very own pumpkin patch.
As far as fall-themed activities go, Louisberg Cider Mill is a Midwestern staple that lures in visitors from all across Kansas and Missouri. Expect big crowds with lots to see and do. And don’t forget to stock up on cider and apple butter before you hit the road back home.
Haunted Houses – West Bottoms District in KCMO
Scary movies, mini-sized candy bars, and fun costumes…these are the things we think of when we think of October. Halloween isn’t just a single night. It’s a theme that takes over the entire month. And there’s no better way to get into the spirit than a trip to the West Bottoms in KCMO. At night, you can check out the big-name haunted houses that have been scaring KC area residents for years. The Beast and The Edge of Hell are the area’s two main attractions. They’ve been in business for over four decades and continue to up their game year-after-year.
Prepare to be scared. They’re VERY good at it.
